I actually just got an SX a few months back with one on "the other side" (G side) of the strings. I find myself using it on occasion.
In the traditional sense? No. But I do rest my thumb on the pickups a lot.

YupInteresting, so you pluck the bass old school style with your thumb, and using the finger rest under the "g" string to kind of grab hold of?
Anyone still using a thumb rest on there bass ?
