Anyone swapped a Geddy Lee neck on another bass

A friend of mine asked recently if I had ever taken off my Geddy Lee neck and used it with another bass? Got me thinking?

anyone ever does this?

i did. i had a geddy jazz & liked it. loved the feel of it but thought it was a little boomy but played it anyway. then one day a kid recorded in my studio with a Squier vintage modified jazz & i was blown away at how good it sounded. i went on my local craigslist, found one for $175 & swapped necks. it took a little shimming but once done the bass played & sounded amazing. i've since parted with that bass (found an amazing 78 P-Bass) but it served me well for many, many gigs. you can see a pic of me playing it on my myspace page myspace.com/michaeljpiscullibassist it's a combo i highly recommend & wont cost you much (btw... i sold the squier neck on ebay for $135 & the geddy body for $190 so i made $150 on the deal)

A few people on here have put Geddy necks on Precision bodies. I would love to have tried that when I had my (several) Geddy's but didn't have a spare P bass body to do it with.
