Has anyone tested the Galli Synthesis flats with a synthetic core?
I've done a search, both online and here at Talkbass. The information I could find was extremely limited.
The only audio clip I could find anywhere was on youtube. Basically a Galli endorser playing them on a P-bass through an amp, with the audio just coming from the camera mic. The tone was... interesting. But I would love to hear better audio clips to get a better idea of what to expect before I spend my hard earned money on them. They're quite expensive so they better be good!
The very limited information I could find here on Talkbass didn't really say much. I found some complaints about tuning stability, which I guess is to be expected with a synthetic core. I won't mind if the tuning stability is comparable to a classical, nylon-string guitar but at these prices they better last SIGNIFICANTLY longer (and break FAR less frequently) than classical guitar strings.
Are there any better audio clips with these strings out there?
Are there any reports on the durability of these strings, both tonally and with regards to string breakage?
Has anyone tested them on a fretless?
Do they have an acceptable output (and signal to noise ratio) with magnetic pickups, even though the core isn't magnetic?
