Anyone toy with an EBow?

I played the cello when I was a kid. Maybe I should just go back to that to get the sound I am looking for, because that's what I hear in my head on these two songs we do!

This all sounds interesteing, but myabe more than I want to bite off right now. I'll dig up the Youtube link.

We'll keep this string open for a while to see more input.

Back in the 80s and 90s my boy used with his guitar for certain songs. One of his girl friends was a cello player so he learned to play cello. He recorded a part for one of his bands songs with the cello and the eBow. It was definitely different and nobody ever figured out how that part was played.

I played with his some. Didn't really find anything I liked with it. I'm sure in the hands of someone with skill or talent it could use it effectively.

Im gassing for one, my b-day is in August, told my wife santa should bring one for my b-day.

Love my EBOW! It took me a couple months to truly get it down but now I'm proficient with it. Practice practice practice!

I too use an Ebow and I love it! I use it on my fretted Sadowsky, my fretless Jazz Bass and my Modulus Flea 5 which I have strung piccolo. This thing is seriously is amazing when you get the hang of it which for me didn't take too long. I definitely think it sounds the best on fretless but also sounds great on fretted too! I actually love that you can get a beautifully haunting sound while using it over the fingerboard and then if you place it over the pickups you start to get various level of distortion! I use it in conjunction with my EHX Freeze pedal and with a little reverb and delay which sounds amazing!
