Anyone tried PM tubes?

I took the back off my recently purchased Orange AD200 out of curiosity today and was surprised to see the 6550 tubes labelled with a large white PM sign. I assume the preamp tubes are the same. I have no reason to be concerned since it is sounding fine, but I am sure my previous AD200 had a more familiar brand. I googled PM tubes and found an impressive webpage, but I would be curious as to whether anyone else has used or compared these.

I'm not familiar with the brand. They seem to be trying to market themselves in the same vein as Groove Tubes, focusing on a spokesperson and their experience.

If they have a good quality control system in place that burns the tubes in and matches the power tubes to a high standard, no reason why they wouldn't be good. Especially if they're affordable locally.

I liked it too :):):)
As I said, amp is going fine but I was just curious having never heard of the brand. Must admit I would have preferred a name I recognised immediately but have to trust the manufacturer to make the right decisions for their product:unsure:.

Let's be honest...most companies use the tubes they use because they're the cheapest that they can get in good supply. And I would think PM being an English company that they probably had the best prices for manufacturers in England. Doesn't mean they're bad tubes by any means, though.

I remember PM adverts in early 1990's guitar mags.
I bought a pair of GE 7027A's from PM Components in 1992 when I were a young lad.
Looking at their websites they appear to be the same company, so they've been around for a while.

Looking at this website I'd be careful of their KT66's though - apparently they are of 'surpassed quality and reliability' ;)
