Anyone tried the Red Label 8 string set?

I have these on a 35-inch scale bass and it appears the low E and A strings are too short. If you have tried these in this situation, am I imagining this? User error?

Make and model of the bass? And do you have them top-loaded or thru-body?

What's the actual length of E and A from the ball end to the taper?

Ugh. I can`t believe I forgot that stuff.

It is the Brice 8-string fretless. The bridge has both string-through and top-load options. In the case of the strings I mentioned in the OP, these are being top-loaded.

I would need to measure the strings, as I am unsure on the length.

From that pic, I would say your E and A strings are fine (not ideal, but should work okay), but your D string looks short.

Looks like the Red Labels still use 36.5" winding length (ball end to taper) for the "long scale", as opposed to 37.25" used by most manufacturers these days.

Strangely, my buzzing is happening on the E and A. No problems on the D.

This is odd for me because the Red Labels work fine on a 35 inch scale 5 string I have.

I wonder if their 8 string sets are designed for their 8 string bass.
