Anyone use extra light strings?

I was given a set of GHS Bass Boomers, B52s, extra light gauge, .035, .055, .075, .095. Spcifically, the XL4500 set.

Any reason someone would want to use such light strings? I was thinking one of those higher than standard tuned basses, perhaps.

My basses are all strung with Ultralights.

Labella HRS... all standard tunings

7 string .022 - .029 - .040 - .060 - .075 - .095 - .118

6 string .029 - .040 - .060 - .075 - .095 - .118

4 string .040 - .060 - .075 - .095

I have used extra light strings and the playability with such light gauge strings is something else , its much easier to slap and pop ,bending notes is easier, slides are a breeze and its much less strain on your hands.
Of course there is also the fact that some players want a brighter, snappier tone which light gauge strings provide

I use a lighter gauge for exactly these reasons.
