Anyone use the Guitar Fetish Compressor?

It's a made-in-China clone of the Ross/Dynacomp/Keeley/etc. Generally those are a bit noisy and lose some low end, but they sound nice in the highs and mids.

Bongomania, I have a budget of $40 and three choices (all for the same price used on craigslist).
1. gfs sweet sparkle
2. Yamaha NE-1
3. Boss- LMB-3
I switch from different fingerstyles (thumb pick, finger, slap, strum with fingers) during half of the songs I play and am getting a drop in dynamics from slap to thumb and index finger plucking. Which of these would you suggest?
I am using a little mark II head 300w 8ohm and a 1980's trace elliot 18+10x cab. my friend is building me a diy boost pedal that I will plug in after the compressor during certain parts of our songs. I also currently have a problem with my tone. When I slap the G string, it sounds honky and not metallic.
