Anyone using a CPAP?

After gaining a bunch of weight and ignoring my health I went to the doctor months ago, did a sleep study and was revealed to be having 110 apnea episodes per hour! I've had a machine now for 3 months and been afraid to use it...until last night. My stepmom and Doctor go say it's a game changer and that I can live again.

Anyway, HOLY COW, I had SUPER WILD ultra detailed dreams like holy ****. I *just* woke up after an 1:20 sleep in a panic and tore OFF the mask...it was THAT REAL AND INTENSE. I was a criminal.

I did not sleep through the night. Lasting 3.5 or so hours, then a break then an hour and a half, then sleep 1.5 then another break and another hour and a half of sleep. I fall asleep right away. I assume I'll sleep through the night with regular use? My body has been deprived for a very very long time and my sleep schedule very intermittent.

Opinions? Advice?

Just keep using it even if it only a few hours a night . Keep increasing the time.
Hang in there.

Best thing I ever did. Before I had one and didnt get one until after I divorced...
My exwife said she would think I was dead or dying. Nice wife huh?

My new wife demands that I wear it .
When I don't I know it.

Sleep apnea is really bad for your cardiovascular system. Use it.

Damn @BeefPie84 , you had to wake up in the morning feeling like you never slept at all. I'm surprised that you didn't feel comfortable with CPAP especially after your sleep study. I was having on average 81 apneas per hour when I had my study which lasted two nights stay in hospital. Now my machine records me having .5 apneas if any at all and the quality of my sleep is fantastic. Before my situation was diagnosed I would fall asleep at the red light on my way to work in the morning. And sleep apnea is a disease not a disability (as once was thought), Reggie White, ex Packer, ex Eagle, perished from undiagnosed obstructive sleep apnea. Glad you're on the road to recovery.

Just keep using it even if it only a few hours a night . Keep increasing the time.

I started realizing how bad it really was when without any alcohol I fell asleep sitting straight up at a Mexican restaurant I like to go to to watch football. And at home, I would wake up in 2 hours later already fighting to not fall asleep.

I'm going to keep using the machine and I'll check in in about a week.
