Here's one for ya @lowplaces ....
I have a package coming to me from Portland, Oregon using FedEx SmartPost.
I can walk from my house to the office the package shipped from in 45 hours. I can drive there in just a skosh over two hours. It's 125 miles.
The FedEx website tells me my item will be delivered in five days. Yeah, five days.
What's even crazier is that it is currently sitting at a FedEx hub 30 minutes (driving) from my house according to tracking. It arrived at the hub earlier this evening.
So yeah, SmartPost truly is the bottom of the barrel, 'we'll deliver this when there is nothing else to deliver' service.

The package is a prize I won on a website giveaway, so I'm not in a position to call and cancel the order. Had I paid for this, I sure would have.

Well, perhaps some good will come out of this thread. If nothing else it's a heads up to anyone who reads it.

Just don't accept SmartPost.

Decided not to be a mean azz and cancel my order. I was rewarded with delivery this morning.



USPS actually took possession of them yesterday and had them at my PO Box station this morning.

Yeah, the boxes were a little bit better shape than I expected. There was a small hole in the side of one of them that I could stick my thumb in and touch the side of the cabinet, but it's fine.
