APEX BASS STRINGS

@ApexStrings Would you please consider making balanced tension sets? It’s the only way to fly ... :-) A SR2000ish string in balanced gauges all the way down to the low B ... Take my money!!

We expect that we will use both Cryogenics and Patented Winding techniques on our new Tapered line once we are ready to introduce them. The original tapers that I worked on back in the early 90's had a 1 7/8" tapering. As I recall, this was to accommodate an assortment of tailpiece configurations. We will do additional research to get a better solution for you. If you have specific suggestions, please let me know. Thanks. Apex Strings

Cryo treated tapers? This would LITERALLY be my holy grail of bass strings! Please, PLEASE manufacture these!

I absolutely love apex SS traditional cryos on my my Fender Am sts precision. They sound very close to Dean markley blue steels in my opinion. I get that Rachel Bolan/Skid Row type bright tone out of my P bass with the tone all the way open and lots of fat deep bass also with the tone back off or all the way off. Excelkent tone from these strings. I think I love them more than rotosound and DR now on my precisions

Interesting.

Which part of the strings are guitar and which are bass?

Calling the bajo quinto "half bass half guitar" is very misleading. It's a 10st bass instrument, tuned ADGCF with octave strings for the AD strings and unison strings for GCF. It a more "modern" variant of the Bajo Sexto, which has 12st (with a low E in octave).

Hi Guys,
I ordered a set of Cryos SS awhile ago to use on my Spector Euro 4 LX. I think I posted some soundclips around here somewhere? But I realized I cut the E string too short! My fault entirely and I had removed them from the bass. A quick email to Apex explaining my mistake and they sent me a new E string free of charge. Very pleasant experience. Thought I would share.

Stay healthy y'all,
Brent
