Apologizing publicly..

Really didn't mean to offend with the comment I made, which if you read it then you know what I'm referring to.. I had no intention of personalizing my comment with the mans wife. It was meant in jest, though in a raunchy way. I was motivated in part to carry a joke by Maki just a bit farther, and I apologize for what I said. I won't do it again.. :rollno:

Hate if you will, I'm not perfect. I commented early in the AM before thinking about what I was saying.. I really can only humbly submit myself before the community and ask for forgiveness. :atoz:

I didn't read it, but as for me life is too short to hate anyone for a offhand comment, once, on the internet.....

"Contrition is good for the groove" has a ring of truth to it. It's awkward apologizing and hearing (seems like) a few more than usual people doing it lately. But I think it's kind of encouraging that the folks speaking up are trying to fix what they and/or somebody else felt was inappropriately offensive. I don't have any problem with disagreement (read a few of my posts), but that shouldn't bleed over into disrespect. Net posting is tricky -- hard to hear a poster's tone; also easy to post thoughtlessly in an environment that's relatively more anonymous than others. Trying to make things better is often worth it and sometimes works. ;)

This will probably be my only response to this thread, then it is my intention to hopefully either have the thread be closed by a moderator, or to let it just slip away into archive land with no more responses from myself..

No problem for me.

Sometimes typed stuff like that doesn't come across as funny as in person. People would be horrified if I posted some of the idiotic stuff me and my friends talk about!

That's the problem w/ the internet: you can't read TONE (you can't tell by typed words whether someone is joking or not, unless you put a "j/k" at the end...). Matt

Thanks for the understanding.. I can definitely be raunchy and gutter minded sometimes, but it usually not my intention to cross lines or offend someone downright.. It was a slip of a little too personal humor.. And I forgot to add "j/k" at the end!

Ahhh, people just need to have a 'thicker skin', especially on the web.

I could definitely agree with that, but at the same time what I wrote could have also been expressed in a much milder way with less visual detail! Reading back afterward I'd have to say that the detailed way in which I worded the joke wasn't quite appropriate.. :rollno:

I demand a membership to the Carrot of the Month club or no forgiveness for you :)

:smug: That genuinely made me laugh! heheh

+1

I guess I missed that one of the 50000 threads that are started here each day. A link would be helpful.

You missed what I wrote, but are "+1'ing" for carrot of the month? That's like putting on a blindfold and taking up a bow and arrow, spinning yourself around a couple times and then letting one fly. You'll find a random target to fire on, for no real reason other than to shoot! :D J/K!!

This is beginning to happen more often and I fail to catch the original thread all the time..

It's ok, you didn't really miss anything.. It was just some dirty and detailed sexual humor that is better amongst friends in private!

since we are all apologizing, guys, im sorry too, I dont know why, but I just am. I hope you'll forgive me. :ninja:

Your comment is funny, but I do think my reason for this thread was valid.. I've made my amends with the person whom I offended, and for that matter hopefully anyone else who may have been totally turned off by what I said..

I like reading and posting threads here on TB.. When I get out of my current financial crisis I plan on becoming a "supporting member".. I'd like to continue my stay here without building unneccessary animosity towards me from other TB members!

As I said at the beginning of this post, this will be my only reply to this thread. After this if the thread stays alive and people continue to post to it, then it's out of my hands.. I may continue to subscribe, but the discussion is over from my end!

It's time to move on to the next thread! :bassist: C U there!
