My brother and one of his friends liked to do this. My favorite of theirs was "Don't count your phone books before your feet stink".
Back in the day in the Montreal area when something was either broken or about to be we'd used to say "It had the bun". Also, in the Canadian Army when someone was really standing out in a look-at-me way we'd tell him "Your arse is a star!"
Here in New England everything is "wicked", as in "wicked pisser", "wicked good", and so on.

I say "Criminy Crocket!" quite often (as in "oh, geez" or "good grief!"). Not sure where I picked it up. Pretty sure I'm alone on this one
I actually use the word 'swell' quite a bit. And my Father-In-Law says about his Ex (my MILF-In-Law): "That woman could talk a dog off a meat wagon!"
