Are ther any ear plugs that don't block out everything?

I sometimes bring earplugs to practice because I've been noticing that my ears ring after practice. It's not our amp volume, it's the drummer. The only thing I hate about ear plugs though is the fact that they block out way too much sound to be able to hear everything like you need to.

My question is this, is there an ear plug made that only blocks out some of the sound, you know, just enough to protect your ears from damage while allowing enough sound to reach your ear drum so you can listen to everything well?
