Argh! Broke a tuner

New to me Schecter Stiletto Custom-5. Decided to change the strings and hadn't noticed that the G string tuning peg was crimped shut when I bought it. Love the bass so I decided to try and "open it up" a bit. I should have known better.

Call to Schecter and unfortunately they will not be selling parts for a few more months yet.

So off to Allparts. Since I cannot match the satin gold finish I have to replace all 5.

Going with Gotoh middle of the price range set. Should be here in a few days.

Just clamp a vice grip on it!

(yes, in shame, i have done that. but seriously, you may be able to repair it with JB weld, not the 5 minute tho. It works really well and the string should cover the repair.

Thanks all. I was hoping to find the US ones for that price. The cheapest I find a 5 set of US is about $200 ordered direct. I will stick with the Gotoh's for now for half the price. That's a little more in my budget range right now (not really even, but closer at least).

Thanks. That is exactly what I just ordered a 5 set of. The stock hardware is a satin gold so I had to order replacements for all 5 so they would match. I think these are an upgrade from the stock factory tuners anyway.

Update. The Gotoh's were a drop in perfect fit and all is now well! Now, do I replace the knobs to match the tuners or leave them satin to "sort of" match the bridge? Hmmm, decisions decisions.
