Aria

Well known brand but hard to get info on. For a brand that has been around for a while i noticed they still don't have as big of a presence like other brands its age. Also i went on their website and couldn't find the aria pro on it, do they still make it anymore?

Aria has gone the same way as Kramer and "insert any brand name that was bought out or taken over and quality went in the crapper". If you're looking for a good Aria then I'd suggest the bay or patrol the classifieds here.
I had an Aria les paul knockoff when I was a kid and was going to replace it until I started digging into the direction the company has taken since the 80's.
Copied from their site.
All guitars were made in Japan until 1988, when production of less expensive models was switched to Korea. In the mid-1990s a few models were made in the United States.

I have a Aria dealer in town here who had a neck thru bass real cool that was a real hotrod. It was active and played sweet had rough fret ends but i filed them. The problem was it had very bad electronics very noisy pups. He took in to get it looked at and nothing could be done..Aria said send it back and replaced it. The next one was just as bad so i got my money back and bought a Fender ..never looked back.

I want more info in this but I can't find it anywhere. Really looks nice.

EDIT: In the US. I do see info from over seas.

a buddy of mine had an Aria bass, and it was awful, weighed nothing (in a way not too bad a thing either, but this is just oddly light), the sound had no body whatsoever... however another buddy of mine has an Aria strat and it's great, lovely v-profile neck and a fab sound. so I guess you ahve tog et a good one and try it out.

While working at GC, I played a number of the origional versions of this bass, and they were all pretty nice instruments.
