Not sure if this is the appropriate sub forum, but here goes:
So I have been invited to play in a Latin group on timbales early next year. The group is made up of some really good players that already perform together regularly. They have a large catalogue of material from the many years they have played professionally, but they offered (read challenged) me the opportunity to arrange two to three songs of my choice for the group.
Only problem: I've never arranged a song before! I'm eager to try, and worse case is the songs never make it past rehearsal. Of course i don't want that to happen, and if I do well I may be able to add arranger to my musical resume..
So any tips or advice would be awesome guys!
