Artcore Club

I cant tell if that's fake or not... either way it's too close in price to a brand new AGB200.
Not fake. It’s an Ibanez ART100 or ARTB100 similar to the catalog page I posted.

New ABG200 are selling for around $569 last time I ‘sort of’ checked. But that’s MSRP and not ‘street’. The one in the Reverb Ad is a solid body and not hollow or semi-hollow. Different animal.

I believe that the white hollowbody was only sold at guitar center. I may be mistaken.
I’m pretty sure it’s been available to everyone once in white, black, sunburst, sunset red, transparent black with gold hardware and transparent black with chrome hardware and distressed vintage.

I’ll have to check my catalogs as you now have piqued my curiosity as well as have me now doubting myself. :woot:

Anyone here ever see an AGB140 in Metallic Black? (actual catalog color listing). This is from the 2006 Japanese Catalog.

I think maybe a 2019. Too lazy to check the SN. A covid purchase via Reverb. One issue it had was, one day I plugged it in and the wood splintered! I had to install one of those metal plates and now it seems fine, though I still tend to baby it. IIRC it was sold as a blem and I got it for about $450 rather than the usual $550.

It came with round wounds which I immediately replaced with tapes. So I can't really do a comparison but am quite happy with it's current 'thumpy' sound (depending on amp/tone settings, etc.)

I just realized I've never posted mine. It's a 2013 AGB VLS that I purchased in Dec. '22.
It came with rounds but I love flats and go with LaBella LTF, the more I play it the more I love it.:bassist:

Yeah... and it seems finding one in person to check out the neck and use the green mag paper on the humbuckers is proving to be difficult. Green mag paper cuz of my experience with G2220 and their chinese made "humbuckers." I dont think anyone ever figured out who started that. Did the factory lie to Gretsch, or did Gretsch lie to us? Either way I wanna be able to confirm coils now. The AGB200 sounds good on demos though
