I bought a DeArmond Ashbory for my wife and had a question about the manufacturer/serial # imprint on the back of the headstock. Every one I've seen online has the imprint on the back of the headstock- except this one?? The bass looks to be all original, it has the sparkle red finish and doesn't appear to be refinished. It's not really the kind of bass someone is likely to "bootleg". 
There is nothing on the back of the headstock except a white sticker reading "F1500". Anyone ever seen one like it or know what it might mean?
