Ashdown 900 EVO question

Heya,

So this amp has two separate power sections. I just played the 500 ABM, and I'm wondering why I'm dragging this big ass amp around. I use 2 8ohm cabs with it, and I'm not taking advantage of both power sections.

The only reason I could think to keep it is if one power section went out, I'd have another built right in! Does anyone know if this is the case? Series or parallel?

Thanks,

Whaaaapsh

some folks like to use speakers in both amps or bridge the amps to mono to get more wattage. but if you're not using them, then the only advantage is having an extra amp in case one goes out. this, however, is rare, and would probably give me incentive to scale back to a 500.

Yeah, you can't bridge them, they aren't like a normal power amp that might have two amps that you could combine. So, I guess that makes them parallel.

But, if one dies, does the other still function?

I think I would like to scale back to the 500 -- there aren't any arena gigs with 2 810's in my future -- I just really want to know the answer to this question. Anyone know?
