Hello all!
So I saved some money and have the plan to upgrade my equipment by the end of the year.
At my local music shop there is a great deal on the ashdown cabinets and heads. As far as head is concerned, currently the choice is little giant 1000 or 350 W, but I have a lot of trouble with picking right cabinet setup.
I know giant can give me 2x500 @ 4 Ω so it would be cool to have that much power. That means 4Ω cabinet is needed, but at my local music shop there are no ashdown cabinets that can handle 4Ω only 8Ω. As mentioned before, there is a great deal on the cabinets, so if it is possible I would go with ashdown.
Second problem is - looking a little bit more to the future, little giant will be used as a backup, and practice at home. The head used for gigs later will be SVT-7 Pro, really dig sound on that thing but I cannot afford it right now. And once again the cabinet is problem. As most of you know, SVT can handle 1000w @ 4Ω or 600w @ 8Ω. Look I really don`t know that much about all this stuff with ohms so I would ask for help how to get most efficient setup for this unit, that could maybe work with little giant without changing the cabinet setup.
If I buy 8Ω cabinet, that is not compatible with little giant right?
There is THIN possibility to get SVT right away, but still having something for backup is not a bad idea.
I am currently in love with SVT, but other options are not excluded, there is a plenty time to decide and your input is much valued!
