Ashdown cabs?

I have 2 ABM 410s with the Ashdown ABM 500 head. I love them. Plenty of low end but clear and punchy too. A buddy of mine played through them with his GK700RB and they sounded great with that too. I play mostly rock and metal and they cut through the mix really well.

Thanks for all the feedback. Here's my scenario. I am considering a 4-10" cab, but am skeptical at the same time. I say this because I attack the bass like a chainsaw sometimes. I play with my fingers and a pick both (depending on what I feel the song requires). I had to switch to a bass with both active and passive electronics for this very reason. I love deep low end, but I also love clarity. I've played on several 4-10" cabs in the past, but some of them distort (clip), due to my heavy attack. But at the same time, I need something portable and LOUD.

The only heads that I use are GK. They are solid/dependable and I wouldn't own anything else.

I've just started using an ABM 610 (blueline speakers) with a GK 700RB-II and I couldn't be happier. Plenty of whatever you dial in from the amp / bass - lows, mids and top end, and all very clear.

As for Ashdown users, I think Maccas bassist, Bruce Foxton, JJ Burnel etc are all serious testament to this gear. I know people go on about endorsements and pros playing whatever they're given, but based on Ashdown players all buying their own gear by choice, this says a lot about the cabs and their heads.

Ashdown are a really popular manufacturer of amps and cabs, and their pedals aren't bad either!

Big name players use them plenty, and so do people you've never heard of (like me!).

I have always found their gear to be sturdy, great sounding and reliable, though often a bit heavier than some of the competition. They are generally pretty good value, too.

I have had a MAG 250 C115, an ABM 115 and (briefly) an ABM810. All brilliant.

I am considering going for a pair of their Toneman 115 Deep cabs to make up a small, fairly cheap, versatile and super-transportable rig in combination with my ampeg PF350.

The ported Ashdown cabs can get seriously deep, too, yet don't sacrifice in clarity.
