Ashdown MAG C115-300 VS. MAG C410T-300

You'd be better off with another 4x10 of the same type, louder and less phasing issues then adding a different cab.
And when I said backline cabs I meant there are alot of gigs where there are cabs for everyone to plug into to make changeovers quicker between bands. Plus if you have a modular (separate amp and cab) setup that means you will be able to still bring your amp when you might not be able to transport your entire combo.
Anyway, another thing to take into consideration is that the particular line of Ashdown your looking at isn't THAT great. If your buying new you could probably find second hand gear of the EVO III/ABM series for a bit more then the price you'd pay for new gear from that range. Much much better equipment.

Skip the 1x15", it is not very loud. As for 2x10" and 4x10" combos - if weight and space is not an issue, go for the 4x10" for more volume and punchier sound (more speaker area and larger cabinet help), the price difference is very small.

Ah yes, if it is pobbile, separate amp and cabinet would be a good idea. The initial cost is bigger, but it is much easier to make any adjustments to your rig in the future (plus also the possibility of taking only the head to the gig if needed).
I'd say get the 10's, but agree that a seperate cab/amp is better than a combo. I've got the MAG300210T, and it's punchy and plenty bright when needed, plenty deep too. I didn't think it was loud enough so I ordered a MAG115 Deep as an extension, but the combo has been in the shop so I haven't tried them paired up yet. However, I've been running the 115 Deep with another amp and it's really dark, lacking high mids and highs big time. Has me gassing for a different cab as I plan on selling the combo (and I like a dark sound). Problem is the upper register of the D and G strings is more quiet as the 115 Deep so dark, imo.
If the 115 combo has a tweeter that's another story, that might be the ticket..... Really the only way to tell for sure is to try them all out.
I'd think the 410 would be ideal, but it's going to be so heavy (the 210 combo is really heavy already).

Wow, looking at that shop I'd take the Laney or the GK over the Ashdown. Tone is down to your ear, but the Laney is definitely clearer sounding (I have something almost identical) and I've heard very good things about the GK head. Neither of those come in packages so the MAG is alot cheaper overall, but for 555 Euros I bet you can find a much better second hand rig.

Have a word with her and try to convince her that you'll get more for your money, because you genuinely will. I can understand why she doesn't want you to, but you can get some quality gear with a bit of care. Fair enough overall though, you could do alot worse then that MAG setup but you could still get more for your money.

Yeah a 3 year guarantee is a good selling point, some people have issues with Ashdown reliability but everyone Ive heard of with any of their better gear hasnt had any issues. Should do you well though mate, itll be a damn sight louder then the 15 watt combo I had to practise with for a while when I first started playing in bands
