Hey guys, and girls, is there anyone out there that owns an Ashdown Mag EVO II, or something similar or from the line that can tell me help me get a better sound from mine? Or that could help in general...
Mine is a 300 watt, split into two 10'' drivers. It is certainly a well built amp, and it sounds great, I just don't get the fullness I'm looking for. I have a Tobias Killer B 5 string with Bartolini soap bars in it, 18V active. D'addario Chromes flat wound, regular light gauge/ On board settings go as this: Treble is slightly bumped up, neck pickup is turned about to 7(5 being the balance between 0 and 10), and the neck pickup is at about 6. As for my current EQ on my amp: I have a deep boost (10 dB boost, not sure what frequency, I want to say its at 32Hz), my bass is at 2 o'clock, my bass/mids are at 2 o'clock. The mids are turned to about 10 o'clock. Mid/treble is at 2 o'clock and the treble is at 1 o'clock. I don't have compression turned on. The dial on the front of the amp shows that I have the input at the max before I start getting distortion in my sound.
The kind of sound I'm looking to pull out of my amp is a smooth, full tone. Something really mellow and full. It may just be that my amp can't pull it off. But that would really surprise me.
Thanks.
