ashdown mibass interface/di/headphone practice thing?

saw this on ebay a few days ago, has anybody tried one of these?

i need to start sending bass riffs to my friends to check out and this seemed like it would be pretty good for that, but i don't want to pick one up until i can get some input, because the only review i could find was terrible awful

i've got a iphone 5s, a samsung galaxy 4 tablet, and a 2010 macbook pro currently

No history with this particular DI, but in general, I've never had any difficulty in connecting any audio interface to my Mac Mini. My Mac is newer than a 2010 though. I'd contact Ashdown and ask for specs on that, plus download the pdf manual for the DI.

The only bass-specific thing about this are the amp-sims and effect-apps. Every USB-interface that supports core-audio will work on your iPhone and on your Macbook anyway.
If you want to use the amp-sims and effects you have to invest more for the software!
If the general quality is o.k., why not? It's just 111,- (without the software).

Disadvantages: it's mono, it's 16-bit. From just reading one test, I guess you would be better off with a budget-Focusrite interface or similar ones.
Or to be critical: a company that sells bass-gear is putting it's name on a mono device with outdated A/D converters hoping that some (stupid) consumers might suppose that it must be something special for bass-players other companies can't offer....
