Does anyone here actually own the 220 yet? Would love to hear how useable the clean tone is.... would love to build a small two / 4 space rack for stripped-down shows but would not want to compromise on clean tone. Love my Line6 stack but a pain in the ass loading it in for an acoustic night.

Received my amp today. Only had a lil time to play, but I like what I'm hearing. Using my LEJ5 and DNA 2x112's. If you are looking for vintage fat tone, this is your amp. It's a pretty good match and backup to my Ampeg PF500. The only flaw so far, the push knobs seem to be a lil weak, but that isn't a deal breaker. Ashdown did a good job making this class D sound close to a tube amp.

Still enjoying this amp. Most of the micros I've owned or tried would be mostly loud and sterile, no soul That sound is cool if that's what you're looking for, but not me. I like low end and warmth/tubey with the ability to get a lil bright if needed. This amp does all that. I work with more R&B and hip-hop and this amp gives me that low end I need. Don't get me wrong the highs are there if you need to do some slapping. If you like vintage or if you call it classic, the mibass is for you. They did a good job making this amp sounding close to a tube. Finally a micro that makes a bass sound like a bass!

You are definitely on point. The more I use my Mi550 the more I dig it. It really is a versatile amp.

Saw you've also cycled through the Tone Hammer in addition to the PF500. Those three seem to me to be the leading "warmer" micros. What else did you run through, for comparison? What did Aggie's TH or the Ampeg lack that the MiBass provides, you think? I've yet to hear a good description of the differences between the 3.

I'm on the fence about ordering one to test (nobody carries anything but Ampeg, Mesa, MB and Acoustic it seems - all off my list), just want to make sure I'm barking up the right tree here :)

The ashdown and the ampeg are close to me. I think the ashdown has a lil more bottom end. Also, whatever cab I play them through I get a consistency of sound. It still sounds like the amp. I like the sound of the aguilar with my 2x112's. But didnt like with my 410. The 12's are DNA and the 410 is Glockenklang. Also, I like simplicity, I can plug and go with the Ashdown or ampeg, not a lot of knob adjusting. I like doing that on the bass, so I keep the amp flat. The Aguilar was loud, but was missing that "thang." When I tried the Aggie it was hook up to Aggie cabs. I think that can make a world of a difference. But, when played with my cabs, didn't enjoy. But, I'm really enjoying the Ashdown better than I thought. It will be my number amp now. Looking at getting another for backup and selling the ampeg.

not a question about the MIBASS in specific, but in general does Ashdown gear suffer a lack of love around TB? I know nothing about their bass gear other than it tends to show up in abundance on ebay... and I don't hear much buzz about their boxes. just wondering if I had missed something
