Ashdown speaker replacement. How to do it?

I recently bought a used Ashdown EB12-EVO II and when I turn it up past 1/2 volume the speaker begins to distort, I contacted Ashdown and they said they believe the speaker needs to be replaced and suggested am Eminence Beta 12. Anyone know how to go about actually putting a speaker into this amp?

Are you certain that it's the loudspeaker that is damaged because it's a function of a bass guitar combo or any bass rig that the system will not produce a clean undistorted output above about half volume with a high output bass guitar.
You need to find out by substitution of a known good high power bass speaker of the same impedance, that, that isn't actually. the point at which the amplifier rather than the loudspeaker begins to distort.
Don't buy a new speaker if the combo sounds clean at a slightly lower level.:-)

My bass is a Squire Vintage modified 5 string all stock (although I just bought a pre-amp to put into it soon) it sounds pretty good at maybe 1/3 volume. But after that begins to distort, and the amp seems pretty quiet compared to the Fender Bassman 100 (1x10 eminence 100w)

I'm still playing around with the amp, this is my first ashdown amp. And it is a input and output volume control.

Any tips on how to get the speaker grill out?

Crguti just gave you a straightforward, no nonsense approach to swapping a speaker. Really, it's that simple! I had an Ashdown 410 cab that I love the tone from, but it distorted much too easily for the amount of power and sensible eq I was running. The speakers aren't bad in it, but the cab was farting out incredibly easily. I suspect a build quality issue, but it's getting punted so i'm not worried.
