Ashdown Studio 15 combo

Ok I bought a Studio 15 bass amp combo from Musicians friend 5 months ago. And because of covid I had packed it away in a storage place in another state with other band equipment. its a awesome amp by the way I got to use it once. Ok a few weeks ago I ordered a road case for it from the demenitions Musicians friend gave me and from the ashdown web site. I also gave the road case company the model number. I got the case today and took it to the storage locker. The amp dont fit in the case. the amp width measured 18.2 where is Ashdowns and musicians friend both said the width is 16.8. so that's what the case company went off of. its not the case makers fault. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Never heard the word "demenitions" but within context, it sounds like both Musicians Friend and Ashdown led you to buy the case from this particular case-maker and they both messed up on the dimensions. They should cover the costs of you getting the new, proper case. Do you have their screw-ups in writing, say an email? If you sell the case you have there's no way you'll get what it's worth. Sorry. At least you like the amp. Maybe you can tell Ashdown you want a full refund on the amp since they screwed up the dimensions, they buy something that fits in the case. Good luck.

Right from ashdown web site. And I called musicians friend again last night and they gave me the same dimensions. I will see what the case maker says tomorrow. Then try your suggestions. Thanks.

I could not find it but recently someone purchased two Trace Elliot Elf 2x8 cabs at the same time from the same retailer.
They came in different boxes and they were about an inch different in size.

One was the original design, the other a new revision where Trace Elliot adjusted the cab a bit.
Do not remember if the new cab was smaller or bigger but size adjustments as well as parts changed from a new supplier happen kind of often.

ALWAYS MEASURE YOUR EXACT ITEM TO GET THE MOST ACCURATE FIT.
This applies to any item you want to fit into something that will be made or purchased to fit.

They did.
The smaller size is likely the current production and so that is what is on their website as well as their Retailer's site. The larger version could be well over a year old before it was purchased. The larger size could also have been a small first batch type of run.

Ever seen the words on the bottom of a product that says something like, "Item in box may be slightly different than pictured due to updates to give you the best product."?

No I didn't see this on either site. That would still not be my problem. I ordered a case to fit my Ashdown amp and didn't get that. Now someone has to take responsibility for this one. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Yes! Live and Learn!

Myself, I wouldn't have ordered a case until I could go and measure it myself even though, it was a pain.

If it was important enough to invest in a case north of $300, it would have been important enough to measure it in person but, that's just me :)

Unfortunately I didn't have the time to travel the 2 states to measure it. I would assume the manufacture would be pretty precise on measurements if not the Dealer itself..
