Double Bass Ashworth Electronics AJ301P Transducer

Does anyone have experienced of Ashworth Electronics AJ301P Double Bass Transducers? Just picked up a couple boxed and unused. I have since discovered that the inventor, Alun Jones passed away suddenly some time ago and the company stopped trading and the last pickups were produced over ten years ago.

They have yet to be delivered so I haven’t had any direct experience unfortunately. It’s a twin transducer and pickups fit in the wings. I believe Alun Jones invented the Ashbory bass and designed pickups for a range of acoustic instruments.

Will do! Might be a while tho my bass is in the studio. I have an old German bass at home which is great but it’s a very odd (Small) size and the bridge is small but I might see if the pickups fit, I also just bought a KNA , badged as Fire & Stone (very cheap) which I’ve yet to try .....

I think you'll be amazed at just how great the KNA-DB1 sounds especially for a piezo pickup and it's cost.

Hi Ric, I’ve heard they are great. I bought one on Amazon for £35 which seemed to be half price. I decided to buy another and the price had changed to £67 (still cheap) so got a bargain there.
