Asking a band member for too much help.

But that's not what the thread is about. "Can you help me lift this lid?" 5 seconds. Maybe 7. How is that too much to ask? You would be bothered by this request? You will not touch anyone else's stuff to help them? Or if you will, you will do only a little and lifting a lid for 5 seconds is too much???

I can see that helping someone haul lots of heavy gear is too much to ask. But I cannot see how this request imposes on anyone.

Based on the information provided by the OP, the level of effort to accomplish the task is fairly minimal. This is like asking someone to hand you that beer from the nearby table.

This is not dragging a fridge up ten flights of stairs level of effort.
