Double Bass ASODB Retreat?

I got this brochure in the mail from ASODB, the camp looks interesting. I was looking for something like that this summer, however I have heard conflicting things about Dr. Mortons methods. I like his recordings though...is it worth a shot?

i would say go for it. i have wanted to go for a few summers now but i could never get the money or time. i have never studied with Dr. Morton but i have seen the free download on there site and it seems to me to be a solid technique if you are interested in using four fingers. i have talked to him via e-mail a handfull of times and he seems to be a good guy who is willing to help.

I attended last year and I can say it was a very good experience. Don't worry about the method. It really makes a lot of sense when Dr. Morton explains it. Whether it works for you or not is something you have to decide for yourself.

I have worked with and known Dr. Mark Morton for about 15 years. I cannot recommend his teaching and his ASODB camp highly enough. And he is also a great person!. You might not reach him now - I believe he is on a European tour and then over the pole from Prague to teach at the SOAP in Canada - then back to Columbus, Ohio for the ASODB.
