I wouldn't expect to see anything updated for the BassBox. What would you want an update to do? Looking for a bug fix or new/added features?

Probably reworking the drive channel so that is more control. My Bassbox's drive channel goes from nothing to crazy fuzz in less than quarter of a knob turn. Maybe something in the software to tone down or provide more fine grained control over the distortion levels.

Other than that it works very well.

How does the drive behave with the input pad engaged ( if not already engaged )?

I don't think I have tried that. Will give it a shot. It's a shame that it seems the support for this product is waning. The Atomic Bass Box still holds its own against some of the newer pedals out there.

I owned one for a while it's a really solid piece of gear. They packed a lot of useful features in there. I never bonded with the stock cab responses though and somehow the tone I was getting from it after loading my favorite 3rd party IRs was underwhelming compared to other units I was auditioning at the time (Two Notes Cab M and the Nux bass preamp/di specifically). Also I found the drive on the Atomic Bass to be completely useless for my tastes and requirements.

The market has now become accustomed to regular firmware uptades to software-based gear. IMHO, unless there are necessary big fixes or glaring feature omissions, firmware updates are a luxury, not a necessity, especially if the gear functions exactly as designed and advertised.

I hope Atomic stays active in the pedal market, but it's extremely competitive. I enjoy their products for what they are, as is, since they deliver what I want. Upgrades are nice and always welcome. I try not to get hung up on it.

For heavy drive paired with another high gain drive in my case a MAE Super Titan it sounds delicious. Granted not the best choice for low gain but high gain I love it.

I agree, if they updated the drive so that it reacts well at low gain it would be perfect, as it stand know low gain drive is it's Achilles's heel...

I think Atomic has a forum but I don't think it's very active..
