I was wondering if you guys can lend me your thoughts on these basses. I have been a long time fender man. On a whim I got a Percison deluxe, absolutely love everything but the tone. No matter what pickups I installed the bass always sounded muted. While the active preamp was cool I mostly used it in passive mode. I sold the bass, since got a 72' Pbass at a steal, and it is amazing. Yet it's the Bridge pickup and not real comfortable gigging with a bass of this vintage.

So I did some digging and the ESP seems to be what I want. I have a deal lined up on the LTD version and was wondering what the differences you may have noticed between the two? I have a set of Duncan quarter pounder and hot stacks to put in it. Any thoughts on the two basses would be great and how it compares to the Fender precision deluxe would be great. Does the ESP sound and feel $1k better then the LTD?
