So heres the deal. I want to buy an empty 610 cabinet and put my own speakers in it buuut i've run into this problem. I dont know if wiring speakers of different impedances is a bad thing or not? the reason i'd have to do that is to get an even impedance. is that a bad idea or not?

I think you're better off with identical drivers. You can hook things up to achieve a total of 5.3 Ohms, which will work with most amps.

Non-identical drivers result in an imbalance of power, so that some of the speakers carry a greater load. Also, unless all of the speakers in a given box volume are identical and driven by the same signal amplitude, the basic design equations go out the window and it's hard to predict what the performance will be like.
