Audality M1

Does anyone here have good or bad experiences with the Audality M1 wireless system? I can't seem to find much online about it, but their specs appear to be very good. I love being wireless but hate all the dropouts I have been dealing with lately with my G30.

First off I think this is posted in the wrong forum but if so a moderator will probably move it to the correct one shortly.

Anything 2.4gHZ is old school and can get hit with a lot of interference which is possibly why you're having issues. I'd definitely go with something operating in the 5.8gHz range at least. I had to fire my Audio-Technica System 10 wireless for the same reasons. Yeah it is crazy that everything new is still using the 2.4ghz range. I have often wondered why they are not developing new wireless units in the 5ghz networks as they are much less congested. Funny you mention the AT system 10. That was one I eas looking at as well since it says it has three levels of diversity assurance: frequency, time, and space. Frequency Diversity sends the signal on two dynamically allocated frequencies for interference-free communication. Time Diversity sends the signal in multiple time slots to maximize immunity to multipath interference. Finally, Space Diversity uses two antennas on each transmitter and receiver to maximize signal integrity. And it will move seamlessly as needed during the performance. Kind of like the Shure GXLD system..

It's entirely possible my unit has issues rather than it being a generalized problem with the AT 10 system as a whole (I've had it several years now) but moving to the $70 5.8 gHz Getaria setup fixed my issue. I've used it on some big stages at some pretty big shows, been using it non stop for a year and a half now and to date not had a single issue. I'm not suggesting this is the "best thing out there " but more that if I'm investing significant $$$ going forward it will be for something 5.8 gHz or whatever else may be better. But as always YMMV.

I am going to give this thing a try. I mean they are only 60 bucks on Amazon. Worse case I can use them at practice .

My thought as well. So far the Getaria has been flawless, considering buying a second as backup since they're so inexpensive. I'm sure the gear snobs turn their noses up at the thought of doing important gigs with such cheap gear. Never been concerned with what the gear snobs think though. What works, works.
