Audere JZ3 soloed PUs louder then blended

Hi everyone,
I remember reading something about this but just can't find it anymore, so here it is.
I have fender 75 J pickups connected to an Audere JZ3.
The pickups soloed are a bit louder then when blended.
If I attack the strings harder,with one of the PU soloed, it brings some distortion. No distortion when blended.
I tried all the different ways to connect the PU to the preamp with the same result.
What Am I missing???
Any help would be more then appreciated.

There is also the effect of the two signals constructively and destructively interfering with each other at various points in the spectrum. Comb filtering, among a few other effects. On a Jazz, this causes a thinning out of the midrange, and the resultant tone sounds quieter, especially to a human being because our ears are most sensitive in the midrange.
