Audere preamp help

I actually ended up having my tech do it with my 'help'. The only issue we ran into was getting the control plate down all the way because he didn't want to trim the wires so there was room to get the preamp out of the way for future work or battery changes. He had already put some shielding in when he installed the Nordy's.

The plate isn't sitting perfectly flush like the stock one did, but it's close enough for me. I don't even think I really would've noticed if I wasn't there for the install... I'll see if I can get some pictures of it tonight...

Here are some pics. Suprising how hard it is to hold a bass and a camera steady and take a picture, as you can see in picture #2. :hmm: You can see the gap on the control plate a little bit in the 2nd pic (I hope).

This caught my attention. I was thinking about getting an Audere for my Q-Tuners but Erno thinks that anything isn't connecting the Q's directly to the jack is sacrilege because the sound quality will worsen considerably. Now that I know that someone else has done this, how's the sound? Does it decrease high end? Does it impart too much color? Or any at all?

I do have a habit of rolling back the volume on one pickup or the other to acheive different tones, but I don't get the difference between the two volume controls and the balance control. :confused:

If it helps, I prefer a sound with plenty of bass and clarity throughout, don't really use a lot of highs, but the option is nice to have.

I would definitely go with the V, B/M, B/T setup. The blend control will give you all the mixing you'll ever need and then some.
