Paegan Terrorism Tactics is such a sweet album.. but I don't think I ever really paid attention to the bass. I'll have to listen to it more carefully this time

Audie Pitre of Acid Bath

Diab Soule, **** yeah!
That song pretty much got me into metal. That specific line gets stuck in my head periodically since I first dubbed it off the radio onto CASSETTE TAPE.
Does anyone know anything about his rig? When I saw then I was 13 and want looking at things like that. Acid Bath is easily my favorite band of all time with his bass lines being my favorite I've ever heard. Thanks for any insight.
Acid Bath is one of my favorite discoveries...nice to see an appreciation thread.
Anything Dax touches is gold..."If this is Hell, then I'm Lucky" seems to be the best album that no one has heard.
If I'm not mistaken Audie did the high pitched "black metal" vocals too.
Acid Bath had GREAT songs. Not just 'for metal', either. Aside from being THE masters of arrangement (well, okay, maybe second to The Porcupine Tree), songs like Dead Girl, The Bones Of Baby Dolls, Scream of the Butterfly could be held up against anything in the classic rock canon.
Acid Bath made me not just want to pay more attention to tasty bass parts...but to sing for real, start playing steel string acoustic, and in general become more of a well rounded musician - instead of just another metal guitarist. While, I might add, validating every thing I lovedand saw as beautiful and poetic about the genre.
If one needed some 'transition' material to incorporate more traditionalrock/roots elements, one could do far worse than followin Dax's progression post Acid Bath - Agents, the 2 COMPLETELY different Deadboy albums, solo work etc.

I am from the same town and Audie and knew him well. He use to play in a cover band called Gypsy Rose and I ran sound for them. One of the nicest guys you could even meet.RIP

Bump for a some nostalgia
I was in high school in Texas graduating the year Audie and his parents passed. It was the same year I was introduced to the band.
they sure had an impact on me until present day and both albums remain in my playlist at all times. I was just thinking of doing a cover or 2.... something I should have learned along time ago.
I was just thinking about rigs and some of my fav bass players and got curious about what Audie used to use for gear.
man, did they ever make powerful music.

Dude - stumbled on Acid Bath and decided that was my saturday morning listening during coffee and am digging the band and the bass. Naturally I dig up whether anyone on TB is keen on Pitre, so I get here. Crazy stuff here: I scroll to this post, and these lyrics literally play as I read the first line before I read the second line...then of course he sings it!!! Not only that but your post is my birthday 2014. Wild. Guess I should buy a bass today
