Audio- Technica Pro- Drum 7 or Shure PGADRUMKIT7 ?

Which one of these 7 drum Mike sets would be best to go with ?
I will use them for home recording and trying to keep my budget at $ 500

Actually, they are both very good packages. Personally, I have been using a couple Shure SM-57's, a Shure beta 52A and either one or two Audio-Technica 4041's for overhead(s). I have been looking at a pair of the A-T 2021 for a few months now as an alternative to taking the 4041's out to gigs. If budget wasn't an issue at all, I'd buy the Shure kit, if it is, then the A-T, but seriously, placement is going to be a much bigger factor, but you already knew that!

This Shure drum mic kit is NOT their professional line (the SM series). It's their pro-sumer line (PG series). Same with the AT stuff, it's their lowest-end mics. Either will be equally okay for home recording. How many toms are you miking? If the answer is one or two, I'd go with the Shure DMK57-52 and get a pair of small diaphragm condensers with what's left over in your budget.
