audition recording

    Is anyone out there using any good machinery to record their efforts prior to audition?

    Google "portable recording". A "Zoom H2" will do the trick nicely, and can be had for $140. If you have more money, the sky's the limit. If you have less, get a used Sony Minidisc on Ebay for like ten bucks. With the Minidisc option you'll also need a mic and it won't interface directly with your computer, but that's how us old guys did it back in the day - like five years ago.

    ha! i just used my MD yesterday. still works great after all these years! and my drummer was amazed at how good it sounds.
