Avatar .gif files unsupported

When uploading an avatar, the software indicates that .gif files are supported. They are supported when uploading a file to a post, but not to an avatar. Here is the same file uploaded to both avatar and post.

Everything seems to be converted to jpg on the fly. My original avatar is a png file, which got converted.

I think it's the animated gif's that aren't supported as avatars...

Yes. That was supported on vBulletin, xeneforo does not it seems. Guess the bacon isn't going to have that smoke aroma anymore
