Avatar or ampeg or...?

I currently using a hartke 4.5xl with a gallien kruegar 700rb II. I also have a smaller 1x12 cab for smaller gigs.

Im not happy with the hartke cab(to punchy) looking for something with some warmth to it.

Was thinking either a SVT-410HLF or i have heard the AVATAR B212 pairs well with the GK head? Or maybe another cab? Not sure how available avatar cabs are in Ireland.

maybe i could i link my 1x12 cab with the avatar b212? heres the spec for my 1x12.

# Drivers: 1 - 12" custom neodymium woofer
# Impedance: 8 ohms
# Watts: 400W RMS
# Maximum Decibels: 100dB SPL @ 1W/1M

ampegs can be real warm, but you have to tame that GK head. i can't picture that exact head, but GK has otherworldly shape and tone controls. if you didnt want punch, then GK and Hartke is probably your wost bet, so anything else is an improvement, but id advise against going with a 3-12 rig. pair it with the svt410hlf and put some time into your EQ, and it'll be worth it.

I think the ampeg would be be the way to go. I have always paired my GK stuff with ampeg cabs and they really compliment each other tonewise. GK heads tend to be pretty punchy amps just by their nature, the ampeg cabs seem to have a bigger low end that blooms a bit and warms up the sound nicely. Good luck.

Ampeg sounds like a good option. Im using a sansamp and ebs multicomp so it helps tame the GK. I hear that ampeg cab is pretty heavy though. :(
