Thanks. Looking at their site the Oxblood just looks black but from Fender's site I see it more of a brown color...

I feel a strong erge to join up with this club. I've been using an Avatar SB112 (4 ohm 500W Delta 12LF) for several years and it is one of my favorite and most used cabs. Outstanding value, great sound. I always run SWR amps, usually a Redhead (head only) or a Studio 220 with it with excellent results. Played tons of blues jams, outside venue, church, it's portable and strong. Never an issue. Also had an early 1x15 (rear ported) Avatar once and also use a pair of PA8 Avatar cabs in my studio for keyboard monitors.
Wow, Avatar PA cabinets, that goes back in time a bit! Dave was phasing those out when I discovered Avatar in 2002...
Hello Avatar owners! Hoping to join the club soon, just had a question about shipping to Canada.
Can someone who's had some Avatar cabs shipped to Canada let me know what sort of import duties and fees I'd be looking at?
In pricing out the B210 I want to order, I'm taking the list price, adding in the shipping and Fedex Brokerage fee's listed on the site. Then I'm converting the USD total into CAD, and factoring in about 15% of that for taxes I'll need to pay. So I'm figuring all in I'll be looking at $550 - $560 CAD. Is this about right?
Also trying to decide what grillcloth option to go with on a burgundy tolex. Leaning towards the oxblood but feel free to offer suggestions!

any opinions on which would go better with my b210,another 210 or 112. will the 112 go lower than the 210. i hear alot of good about verticle stackig the 210s but hear great things about the 112. decisions,decisions. thanks
I've run a Avatar 112 (4ohm) in the same situation (amp, room, band size, etc) as an SWR Workingman 2x10 (4ohm) at my blues jam on different nights comparing the two cabs, I was using an SWR Studio 220 head. The crowd, soundman, and other band mates all liked the 112 over 210s. It's warmer, fuller, but still punchy. I sold the 2x10, by the way I had it loaded with Emenince Delta 10s, not the cheap Workingman 10s. So it was Deltas against Deltas. If you adding to a 210, I'd go with a 112, probably even over a 115.

i'm running it with a peavey 115 now,tired of haulin that tank around.dave says the 112 should go as low and loud as the peavey 115 being much more efficient.

I'm looking into gettin either a 115 or 212 in the future. The 210 sounds great, but I'd like a little more low end rumble.
B212!!! You'll get a lot more low end, but still have a good amount of punch/clarity.
Sometimes I'll do a little dialing or use the shape switches based on the room, but for the most part I leave the EQ on my Shuttle 6.0 pretty flat and that 212 still r-u-m-b-l-e-s! A low B thunders with that cab, and the combination of the 210/212 is pretty awesome. I've gotten nothing but compliments, even from professional sound guys.
Maybe this will help as well... Another person was in a similar debate (going with a 4x10 or 2x10/2x12) and I posted a reply a few pages back in this thread, #372!

I just bought a used brand new Avatar B210 Neo to match the one I got a couple of months ago. I found it on Craig's List for $180. The guy bought it, didn't like it, wanted to move more air so was looking at a 4x10. It was 5 weeks old and perfect condition. It even still smells new!
I took it to a gig that night and with my GenzBenz 6.0 and 2 B210s I really had it rocking. More power than I needed. Was great for a 4 and half hour gig!

Thanks! Easter Sunday I woke up every animal withing a half mile of my parent's house with one of these, and got them all to accompany me in noise-making.
