while now I have been struggling to see the fret dots when paying at night, really faded and matching the Rosewood.
I generally only look down when starting a song as I spend a lot of time singing and it was driving me crazy occasionally starting a semi tone out, I would notice right away and correct, but it drove me nuts!
Today today got my 63 AVRI back with new markers (same as what Fender originally used it the good old days)
Clay dots, although they are not clay...

anyway here she is!

That is my only complaint about the 63AVRI. I have the same Faded Sonic Blue and the markers just disappear into the rosewood. Not sure that I am up for a full swap though, it does show up much better.

I was feeling the same, but decided to take the plunge as I was not using it live anymore, it is ironic that the pre faded dots fade more and almost disappear.
The new dots are the original material, so they will fade over time as well...
