Awesome head & cab combo for under $2000?

Man, I wish that would work just so I could buy a Shuttle and call it good since I hate breaking my back and I drive a small car.

We've tried everything to make him quieter but it's like gravity likes his hands more or something. He even plays djembe too friggin' loud!

No way, he's my favorite drummer in the world. He's not loud in a bashy, wild-abandon sort of way, he's just naturally louder because he has wrists like tree trunks.

And I'm not spending 2K because of him, I need a new amp regardless. Right now I'm playing through a Behringer keyboard amp because my old Carvin rig finally stopped being reliable. I just figured if I'm buying a new rig, I ought to account for the fact I play in some LOUD bands.

This makes me happy. I'm all for peace and all that, but sometimes the way to acheive peace is through adequate firepower. If you are willing to put in the coin and the sweat to dominate, I say, go forth and dominate.

If it were me, I think I would go with a Carvin B1500 head and one huge cab - an 810, probably. I love my SWR head for a clean, modern sound, so I'd guess that their cabs sound likewise. Plus, they have cool names.

Buying my drummer drinks has the exact opposite effect. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen anyone in my band do some drinking and then turn down.

Since you are lugging your gear in a car, I would recommend a Schroeder. Size/Volume ratio cant be beat. And they slice thru like a razor!

but yea, i vote for a GK MB2-500 or a GB Shuttle 6.0 w/ a pair of Avatar neo loaded 4x10's.

Drop some skrilla on a new amp and cab and feel better, or drop one k on gear and budget the rest... like a mutual fund (about as risky as I would go right now). Avatar 4x10 and a good head and call it good, my friend. opt for the 2x12 as well if you are in a spending mood, but do it soon as there is a rumor of a price increase a coming.

reads like the story of my life... let me tell you, speech-frequency hearing loss is no treat, just ask my gf , she is tired of shouting at me if the surroundnigs are even modestly noisy

great rig, though kind of big for a small car - GK 1001RB-II and GK Neo412... I get the cab into the back seat of my chrysler 300 - rack and bass in the trunk! Sounds soooo great!
