Axl Rose pulling same old stunts again!

I just read that Axl delayed his show by an hour and 20 min in London recently because he was waiting for his own air mask as apperently he needs to take oxygen breaks between every song. Supposedly hundreds of fans left before he even took the stage as to not miss their rides home by public transportation. I don't know if this is true or not but if it is then he has not really learned anything from his self imposed exile of 13 years.
I don't understand why people keep giving this guy chances, he obviously abuses everyone including the fans by his lack of profesionalism yet like Pavlovs dog we coming back to the dish for more.
I just don't get it.

:confused: Don't include me in that "we". I wouldn't pay $2 to see Axle if he was playing 2 blocks away.

I liked G 'n R back in the day. I LOVED the Appetite for Destruction album and still do to this day, but Axle's been a washed up has been for many moons now. Your post did not surprise me. A successful Axle rose comeback would surprise me.

This was one reason I never liked them. Appetite for Destruction had some good songs, but I hated Axl's attitude. He was an overgrown child who threw a tantrum when things didn't go his way. He never gave a damn about the fans that made him so popular.

He's a whiny little brat and, like Bryson, I wouldn't pay a nickle to see his washed up rock star butt if I had to..

One of my friends has been looking forward to "Chinese Democracy" for a long time. I love AFD as well as Lies, and some tracks off of the Use Your Illusion albums. However, I don't think the current day GnR is true GnR; it's Axl and some hired hands.

First off if I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I thought the misalanious forum was for bass related items that could not be answered in the other forums.
I am glad to see I am not the only one who feels this way. I agree that it is Axl and a bunch of hired guns, why he chooses to use the name Guns and Roses is beyond me it's one fifth of the band, I mean you don't see Robert Plant going out as Led Zepplin? I also know he has the legal rights to the name GNR but still.
Having said that he recently sold out MSG in New York for 4 nights. All the talk makes Chinese Democracy and Axl Rose sound like the second coming of christ, and that I don't understand how someone can screw over so many people and still be so popular. IMO he is no musical genius, and far from the best vocalist I ever heard.
I saw these guys open for the Cult in 1987 on the Electric tour before they made it big and they were booed off the stage for real. They played 5 songs and then Axl said "if you don't like our F******g music than F**k you" and walked off the stage. 8 months later they are the biggest band in the world.
I my self loved GNR back in the day so I am not a GNR hater but I have never been a fan of Axl or his shananagins, and if you or I treated the public they way he treats the public we would be playing to are selves in our bedroom instead of clubs on the weekend.
I guesse I want to know what makes this guy so special that he can get away with treating people the way he does and still have millions of adoring fans waiting to be screwed over by him again and again.

GnR was the greatest band in the last 20 years. But, they are and have been dead for a long time (more than 10 years??). Axl was a great frontman, but he needed the original GnR behind him. He doesn't have that anymore, and i wouldn't pay a cent to see him either, because it still won't be GnR.

Dude, it's a lot like dating. Ever notice how so many females seem to prefer the jerkface guy who treats them like dirt, to the gentleman who treats them like ladies? Same kind of thing.

That's a pretty good comparison, although from what I've seen the jerks are usually good-looking guys, so the girls like their looks and "forgive" their horrible behavior. That said, Axl is not a good looking man by any means.
