AZ gtg anyone?

Plus, IMO it should be at a venue or "gathering" place. What's wrong with the place we had it last time?
Location we had last time was great. My only concern there would be that we just barely fit in there. If there were any more people or gear, there wouldn't be enough room. That being said, if they were willing to host again, I still thought it was a great spot to do it at.
So... I went to a couple of likely local spots, with the idea of 5-15 or so peeps hanging out for a bit, making responsible levels of noise and spending money. Suggested all we'd need would be power and a place, and we'd be cool.
Surprisingly, got no takers. "We don't do live music, too much hassle, parking issues, etc."
Anyone else have anything, it'd be cool. Otherwise, I'll expand the search radius...

If there is any interest, I could check around my crappy little town for a place, between Phoenix and Tucson.

Anywhere between Tucson and North Phx would work. I just don't know anyone up there. Lots of contacts here in Tucson. My church would be perfect. We could do a pot luck, BYOB, we have a nice sound system, mics, drums, keys, vid/audio recording capabilities, lots of room, etc. I would be willing to order sub's or do burgers too for a small donation. (i.e. $5 per person) I'm the Exec. Dir. so I already approved it. LOL......
I loved the Ice House venue! , of course I'd be cool with Syco's suggestion also and could help with some logistics if it was here in Tucson...
Would anyone be interested in putting a quick, small band together for this? I mentioned this before, but I'll elaborate.
I've been to other GTGs before (mostly guitar-focused, but several bass GTGs) and I strongly believe it would be a helpful addition where the bulk of attendees' time is in one setting - you, the bass and nothing else except for 12 others bassists thumping away. You obviously learn a lot about the gear brought, but you don't learn about how that gear fits into the mixture of a band.
I play guitar, but I'm sure I/w could find a decent mix of others (drums, keys, vocals, maybe a horn).

Syco - the church offer is great!, but not sure proximity to the bulk of attendees is the best solution.

No worries, just thought I'd offer since it's less than 2 miles from my house.
As far as other musicians, I'm sure I can find some guys to come up with me. Especially if there is some "swag" involved. I can talk to my suppliers again to see what they might be willing to donate. Gift certs, T-shirts, strings, straps, stickers, beer coozies, samples, etc.
If there is enough interest, and there is enough time, I'd be willing to do another bass raffle. I'd have to sell a minimum of $500 in tickets. I lost my A** on the last one.
Anyway, I'm in for what ever the group decides. Peace.
