B-15n & Avalon U5

Just an update. This whole thing, while thrown together, actually works.

I just need to figure out a way to hook it up in a gig ready (reliable) package.

The project kind of took a back seat, but I may pick it up again.

Here's the setup....

I hooked the B15 head up to the cab as usual. However, I unplugged the speaker and connected the dummy load right off of those cables.

Then I went from the other output on the head into a CountyMan DI and then into an Acoustic Image power amp. (I don't think that the AI is the right choice, but it was what I had available.) Then I hooked up a Bag End cab to the power amp.

That's all there is to it. Still tweaking.

Would it be possible to skip the whole dummy load thing and go from the B15 head right into the Countryman then into the power amp? I don't know if this would put the head in danger.

Here's how this works for the countryman.

Set switch to speaker and connect the speaker out of the b15 to the inst.

Go from the amp to the speaker.

DI to the board.

Done.

The sample above is what is suggested for guitars.

I'm actually trying to bypass the B15 cabinet and run straight to an external power amp then to an 8 ohm cab. Since the signal won't reach a speaker until it goes through the CM and a poweramp, and because the speaker is a difference impedence than the B15, I don't know if this will damage the head.

Aha.

Could you set it up like I explained and go from the DI of the CM to your external poweramp?
