B.C. Rich basses

from what ive seen and heard over time it seems like a lot of people have problems with B.C. Rich basses, what are the main problems as ive been looking into some of their stuff like the heritage classic mockingbird, the virgo celtic, and the widow wmd(if i decide to upgrade to a 5 string) so i was wondering if someone could give me some personal experience using them for an opinion

Seems to be an image problem.
I used a Platinum edition Warlock for many years, the only thing I found "wrong" with it was how other people perceived it.

Well, all metal jokes aside, many BC Rich body designs seem to be very prone to neckdive, which for many, is a deal breaker. BC Rich pickups also tend to be pretty bland. I would definitely suggest trying out those basses in person before buying as people seem to either really like them or really hate them. I will admit though, the mockingbird looks very nice, excellent maple top and cherry/natural/cherry finish.

IF youd like personal experiences with them I can offer up opinions in detail.
I exclusively play BC Rich basses. As of right now I own 5, having owned at least 11 at one time.
I absolutely love BC Rich.
What do I have to say about them...it kind of a loaded question but I think Tyrus said it right to begin with. Do I have any complaints about them? Now way. I currently have two USA built basses, A Japanese addition and a newer NJ.
My US basses are constantly getting praise from people, including other bassist. When I recorded with my US Gunslinger the sound engineer was flat out blown away. He stated that is was one of the nicest sounding best basses hes played. He was a bass player himself and played it every chance he could.

People, for one reason or another are rather childish about BC Rich. Everybody has heard bad things about them from somebody and some how decide that they are crap and end it there.Sure its true that THEY did have a low point where some questionable instruments were made but this was 20 years ago. The newer basses Ive played have been (and owned) have been incredible in quality and sound.
I mean if your goign to pay for a Platinum or Bronze series instrument (their lowest import models) your going to get quality comparable to the price.

Play them, and decide for yourself instead of letting others decide for you.

(plenty more pics of my basses in the BC Rich thread)
