B string for medium scale bass

Anyone knows where to get a B string for a medium scale bass? My bass has a 32" scale length and I'm having trouble with standard long scale B strings (they wrap around the tuning post at full thickness, not good IMO).

Any ideas? For my particular bass the distance between ball end at the bridge and the tuning post is 92cm.

Jason (AKA SLaPiNFuNK here on TB) from bassstringsonline.com said DR makes a "short scale" (that's what DR call their shorter-than-standard products, but they're actually medium scale - 34" ball to silk - and should fit fine on your bass) B string; also, La Bella can make everything they do in whatever scale you need, even if not found in prepackaged sets - they're made to order anyway - if you go through a dealer. Enquire with Jason. Overseas shipping/customs clearance might end up being reasonable enough for you to justify it.

My pleasure. Yeah, weird if you consider it's a product nobody else does (which itself is in part understandable given medium/short scale 5 string basses are scarce).

If you don't like the gauge, the construction or Hi-Beams themselves, check La Bella. (Or to get both is another option I guess.) Good luck!

You could try Kalium guitar strings a GH-142L or GH-136L should work but you may to need to put a washer over the guitar sized ball-end to fit your bass.
The ball-end off of an old bass string works great for this but on the bigger gauges you may need to cut one side open.

I ordered the DR short scale B string from bassstringsonline.com and it fits perfectly! So for anyone looking for a B string for their 32" inch bass, the DR shortscale B string works.
